Our story

Experience you can trust

Mother City Pools is a Western Cape pool company, founded in 2024 by Ishmael Nkhata. We keep pools clean, safe and beautiful for homes and businesses across the Helderberg and greater Cape Town.

Ishmael has worked in the pool industry since 2018, when he joined a pool company at the age of 19 and learned the trade from the ground up: cleaning, water chemistry, pumps, filters and repairs.

When his contract ended in 2023, he set out on his own. Starting with a bicycle, he went door to door in the Helderberg, offering to clean and maintain pools, and built a client base on reliable, honest workmanship.

In early 2024 he registered Mother City Pools as a company. Today it is a full-service team handling maintenance, repairs, renovations, fibreglass installations and new builds, and Ishmael still looks after every client personally.
